Petland Charities strongly believes in the healing power of pets and the importance of the human-animal bond. We are committed to providing communities with the resources for strengthening those bonds.
Petland Charities actively supports Canine Companions, the leading service dog organization in the industry. It’s important to us that children, veterans, and adults alike can live a life with greater independence.
Heartland Canines provides therapy, companion and service dogs for disabled veterans. Petland provides financial support for the training of the service dogs, sponsoring the full cost of training dogs.
Petland Charities participates in the national Pets in the Classroom program coordinated by the Pet Care Trust. The program provides grants allowing teachers to acquire pets and pet supplies from Petland for the classroom, enhancing and promoting responsible pet ownership and the human-animal bond.
Pet therapy is a natural extension of Petland’s retail environment. We commonly take our pets to visit school children and nursing home residents, as studies of the human-animal bond show that pets are good for people.
Learn MorePetland stores across the country provide financial support and feeding programs for hundreds of therapy dogs and K9 units in police, sheriff and fire stations.
Petland grants pet-related wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions through the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Since 1998, Petland Charities has fulfilled more than 900 wishes.
