Petland Supports Rescue After Storm Damage

When storms rolled across Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, heavy winds toppled trees and left a path of debris for Cabin Critters Rescue, located in Wheelersburg, OH. During the storms, a large tree fell on a brand-new addition to their building, taking out most outside kennels and destroying part of the roof. No animals or humans were harmed, but the damage threw the rescue into a huge predicament as it housed many dogs of varying sizes and ages.

Noticing a social media post about the incident, Petland Ashland’s (KY) general manager stepped in, contacting Petland Charities for help. The store manager put together a sizable donation of pet supplies, local contractors were donating their time and labor to fix what the storm left behind. However, the shelter still needed to come up with $500 to cover its insurance deductible. To meet that need, Petland Charities provided those funds to help the rescue put this challenge behind them.

In addition to cash and supplies donated, several of the (Petland Ashland) pet counselors arrived at the shelter to volunteer and help with cleanup.
